Video shows off-duty Lansing police officer pinning down teen and choking him, threatening his life

A video has surfaced on social media that shows a white suburban police officer pinning down an African American teen and threatening his life for trespassing.

It all started Saturday afternoon when a couple of teenage boys got into a fight with another group of boys. They were able to get away only to find themselves in a totally different and unexpected fight.

“You guys are on my f—ing property!” an off-duty Lansing police officer says in the video while pinning 15-year-old Jordan Brunson to the ground with his knee, his hand on the boy’s neck.

“Let me go!” Jordan says in the video.

“No, you are on my f—ing property. I could f—ing kill you,” the officer says.

Jordan’s friend was shooting the cell phone video, which is only a few minutes long.

“Tell your friend to come here right now,” the officer says.

At one point in the video, a woman walks outside the home and says, “You guys came to the wrong house.”

Moments earlier, Jordan says he was trying to help his friend who was sitting on the officer’s porch. He had been beaten up pretty bad in a fight earlier Saturday afternoon. WGN talked to Jordan at his home Monday night.

“I was examining him. I was going to go tell his grandmother,” Jordan said. He then says the officer came out of nowhere and grabbed them both.

WGN reporter Erik Runge: “You never heard the officer ask what you doing there?”

Jordan: “No.”

Runge: “Did you ever heard the officer say get off of my property.”

Jordan: “No.”

Runge: “Did he ever identify himself as a cop?”

Jordan: “No.”

Jordan’s aunt Lashawnya Brunson posted the video that Jordan’s friend recorded to Facebook. She says the officer’s behavior is outrageous.

“If he wasn’t an officer, just a regular man, would they do the same thing? No, he’d be locked up,” she said.

On Monday night, two police officers sat in an unmarked car keeping an eye on the officer’s home. No one came do the door when WGN knocked. Reporter Erik Runge left a note asking for his side of the story. So far, he hasn’t called.

The Lansing Police Department released as statement that says, in part:

“An off-duty Lansing police officer, outside on his personal property, became involved when he was approached by two other subjects involved in the fight. One of the juveniles had visible minor injuries, and the other was temporarily detained for further investigation until the arrival of on-duty officers.”

Jordan says neither he nor his friend was approached by officers at any time.

Jordan says the off-duty officer let him up when the on-duty officers arrived. Jordan’s family filed a police report and wants the officer brought up on charges

Meet Officer Dominick Izzo- A Officer Making A Difference.

Cops Caught On Video is NOT just about exposing bad officers, we also post stories about police officers who are everyday heroes. We truly understand that being a law enforcement officer in today’s world is no small task, inner city officers in cities like Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, New Orleans etc face the worst of the worst on a daily basis and only a properly trained officer with the right mindset can withstand the daily pressures of being a Law Enforcement Officer.

Often grossly underpaid (Detroit Police Officers pay can be as low as $15.50 a hour) police officers often face critical split second decisions that can be the difference between life and death. Cops Caught ON video has been preaching for years that officers need better training, higher pay but the trade off must be true accountability and transparency.  We would much rather post good stories then some of the horrible stories we feel we need to expose.

We did a story last year about Officer Nick Novello who serves in the Dallas Police Department, and has for 34 years, Officer Novello accuses that the Dallas P.D. wrongly arrest blacks to fill quotas and warns the national guard may be used in the future.  We applauded Officer Novello for the courage to stand up and try to stop this alleged practice.

Now Officer Dominick Izzo is another respected officer who is able to see things from a civilians point of view.  As we know many of the laws today’s officers are expected to enforce are draconian and no longer serves a purpose other then to tie up courts, make criminals or jail people for small amounts of Marijuana which turns a otherwise law abiding citizen into a criminal with a record that directly affects their ability to get gainful employment to support their families.  The new gallup pole shows Americans support for total legalization for Marijuana is now 61%,  27 states is now medically legal yet despite the will of Americans to end this failed Marijuana policy the war continues.

Officer Izzo has spoken out against this policy stating it serves no purpose and has caught a lot of criticism for speaking out against the issues facing Law Enforcement Officers today.  He is speaking out about  issues that officers face when having to decide to try to right a wrong, Officers Izzo admits that officers are afraid to speak out due to the retaliation that awaits those that dare buck the thin blue line.  These are just a few things Officer Izzo addresses and we could not be happier that Officer Izzo is making a difference for both the citizens of this great country and his fellow officers which is obvious he cares enough about them to help them even if Officer Izzo is no longer a law enforcement officer.

Officer Izzo is offering candid advice for both the citizens of this country and police brass to bridge some of the issues we face in regards to community outreach.  We have reached out to Officer Izzo and he welcomes us to help him to make a difference.  We would like to thank Officer Izzo for his continued commitment in helping his fellow officers and try to mend fences with common sense approach to being a officer in 2017.  We have posted a few videos of Officer Izzo so you can understand what this officer is all about. We hope to work with Officer Izzo in the future and bring you stories of the progress we hope to see with some of the issues we often refer to in our post.

Cardondale Pennsylvania Police Refuse To Stop Using Altered U.S. Flag

Carbondale Pennsylvania Police Dept has refused to stop utilizing a altered U.S. Flag they are using on their facebook page,  instead removing reviews pointing out why using this flag in this manner is against U.S. flag code and a insult to many service men and women who have lost their lives honoring the U.S. flag. Flag code reads:

The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

So Carbondale P.D. had a opportunity to read hundreds of comments asking for their  altered flag used on their facebook page to be changed, there are several versions of Blue Lives Matter flags that do NOT go against the U.S. Flag Code. This is NOT anti-police rhetoric as Carbondale P.D. posted when they decided to close down the reviews and comments down due to so many people asking them NOT  to use a flag that offends many service men and women who have sacrificed to protect and honor our American Flag.

This is NO DIFFERENT then burning the flag, should black lives matter alter our U.S.Flag? How about Clowns lives matter should they have their version of a alter U.S. Flag?  Where does it end? THE U.S. FLAG IS SACRED LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE!!!!!!

So they remove every comment that mentions the issue with bad reviews was due to the fact they are violating the U.S. Flag code, instead saying Anti-police groups where needlessly attacking them?  So now all you have is people that have NO idea what this is all about get to comment saying how cop haters ruin everything and NOT ONE COMMENT regarding freedom of speech or the fact this was ALL ABOUT CARBONDALE P.D. REFUSING TO RESPECT OUR AMERICAN FLAG. Instead of bringing people together as this is a very VALID CONCERN, they turn it around to cause even more division and hate.

Cop Caught Stealing From Dying Car Crash Victim Is About To Lose Everything

A state trooper in Hartford, Connecticut was caught stealing cash and jewelry from a dying motorcycle accident victim. Now, that trooper is in hot water.

State Attorney General George Jepsen said on Thursday that a Hartford Superior Court judge had just approved the revocation of Trooper Aaron Huntsman’s pension

Huntsman was additionally forced to resign, after losing what would have been a $1,530 per month pension, due to start in 2024.

The move is unusual, as officers are rarely fired for nearly any infraction. When they are, retirement with their pension is the norm.

But a 2008 law permits the state to revoke the pensions of any state or municipal officials if they are convicted of crimes that are directly related to their jobs.

That makes Trooper Huntsman’s case apply, as he “was caught on his patrol car’s dash cam stealing $3,700 and a gold crucifix from John Scalesse as he lay dying after crashing his motorcycle on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield in 2012,” according to local Fox 61.

Huntsman was also sentenced to a year in prison, after a 19-year career as a police officer.
